Phones are the tills
Vendors take payments on an NFC Android phone at the stall, or on a PC with the TapVent PC reader kit, so there is no card machine to hire.
CASHLESS EVENTS
The wristband that gets a guest in can also be their wallet. They top it up from their phone and pay at bars and stalls with a tap, and what they do not spend stays in their wallet.
WHY CASHLESS
Cash slows a bar down. It needs a float and change, and at the end of the night someone has to count it, carry it and bank it. With TapVent wallet bands the guest has already topped up a wallet, and paying is a tap.
Vendors take payments on an NFC Android phone at the stall, or on a PC with the TapVent PC reader kit, so there is no card machine to hire.
Guests open a wallet with their cell number and a PIN, add the band to it, and top up from their phone.
Every payment is on record, and each vendor sees its own sales as they happen.
Once TapAPI has checked it, a registered company is paid every business day to its business bank account, with a statement. A sole trader sends takings to the bank from the wallet.
The same band can carry entry, redemptions and payments, so guests have one thing to keep on their wrist.
Payments run only for the vendors you switch on at your event, and only once their registration is complete.
HOW IT WORKS
Each vendor registers once in the TapVent vendor portal. You switch payments on for the vendors trading at your event.
A guest taps the band with their phone, opens a wallet with their cell number and tops it up.
At the bar or stall, the vendor’s phone reads the band and the payment comes off the guest’s wallet.
Registered companies are paid every business day once TapAPI has checked them, with a statement. Sole traders send their takings to the bank from the wallet.
FOR VENDORS
Vendors register in the TapVent vendor portal, under Sales Vendor Registration. The first thing they choose is how they trade: as a registered company or as a sole trader.
A registered company gives its CIPC number, business bank account and documents, and once TapAPI has checked it, is paid every business day
A sole trader links their own TapVent shop wallet and pays out with Send to bank
Payments taken on any NFC Android phone, or a PC with the TapVent PC reader kit, at the stall
Registered companies get a statement by email with every settlement
Registration happens once. After that, a vendor takes payments at any event where the organiser has switched payments on for them.
QUESTIONS
The first time a guest taps the band with their phone, it opens a page to make the band their wallet. They sign up with their cell number and choose a PIN, or add the band to a wallet they already have, and then top up from the wallet on their phone.
It stays in the guest’s wallet. The band is the guest’s way into the wallet, so the money is not lost when the event ends.
An NFC Android phone at the stall, or a PC with the TapVent PC reader kit, and a completed registration in the TapVent vendor portal. Payments run only for the vendors the organiser has switched on for that event.
Once TapAPI has checked the company, a registered company is paid every business day to its business bank account, with a statement of the transactions behind each payout. A sole trader’s takings stay in their shop wallet until they send them to their bank with Send to bank.
TapVent’s wallets run on TapAPI, a South African closed-loop prepaid wallet platform. TapVent runs the event side: the bands, the vendors and the organiser’s controls.
